Indigenous Children, Youth & Family Services
We believe that Indigenous Peoples are to be recognized and approached as sovereign nations with their own distinct cultural, political and historical ties to the province of Ontario and Canada as a whole. They have a legislative right to self-governance, self-determination, and self-independence. As a result, we endeavour to engage and work with First Nations, Inuit and Métis Peoples as distinct and independent communities.
Dnaagdawenmag Binnoojiiyag Child and Family Services is the main Indigenous child wellbeing service provider for Simcoe and Muskoka.
On February 28, 2019, the child welfare mandate was restored to Dnaagdawenmag Binnoojiiyag Child and Family Services to support First Nations, Inuit and Métis children, youth and families living on and off territory within their service area.
Founded in 1998, Dnaagdawenmag Binnoojiiyag Child and Family Services is a multi-service Indigenous wellbeing agency that provides a stable foundation for children, youth, and families through wraparound services that are culturally-based and family-focused. Dnaagdawenmag Binnoojiiyag Child and Family Services delivers services to eight First Nation communities, seeking to support families in the way they deserve, with care and authenticity, and by recognizing and respecting spirit.
The trailblazing work of Dnaagdawenmag Binnoojiiyag Child and Family Services is clearing a path for inspiring, ground-breaking work that helps, heals, and changes lives.
