Support When You Need It!

The Child & Youth Mental Health Crisis Program provides immediate support to children and youth experiencing a mental health crisis and to support our community with access to crisis assessment and planning when needed.

A mental health crisis could include having thoughts of suicide or self-harm, feeling overwhelmed or hopeless, intense anxiety, overwhelming depression, feeling unable to cope and/or feeling out of control.

Simcoe Muskoka Family Connexions has teamed up with Kids Help Phone to ensure a 24-hour/7 day per week telephone and virtual response from a trained professional.  Children & youth will be listened to, supported, and together with the trained professional, help will be provided to create a safety plan.

Children, youth & families in Muskoka who are, in the time of crisis, being supported by hospital, OPP, school and/or other community professionals will be provided crisis service and support by a Muskoka-based SMFC Crisis Clinician.  Community partners are asked to follow the telephone prompts (press 2) to access our clinicians between 9:00am to 9:00pm, Monday to Friday.
