EDUCATION PROGRAMS

Back-To-School program & Bursary

Invest in a child’s future!

As children and youth in our community prepare to go back to school, we would like to ask you to consider helping those that need support. Many families in our community are struggling to make ends meet and do not have the resources to send their kids back to school with a quality backpack and supplies to fill it up. As well as we are helping Independent Youth to attend post-secondary education by providing Bursary twice a year.

There are two ways to help our program:

Make a financial contribution
We will use donated funds to provide Bursary to independent Youth & to purchase items in bulk to stuff the backpacks.
Gift cards to stores that sell school supplies and footwear are also greatly appreciated.

Help us collect school supplies!
This year we are aiming to collect donations of NEW backpacks and supplies to fill them up. We organize backpacks and supplies according to three grade levels – primary, intermediate and high school – and distribute them to children and families we work with who are in need. Please bring your donations to our Barrie office located at: 60 Bell Farm St. Unit 7. Monday to Friday between 9am and 4pm.

What other supplies are needed?  Not included on this list but always needed are indoor shoes for primary and intermediate students, Clothes, Electronics (Computer, Tablets, Earbuds and/or Headset with Microphone). Gift cards are great to help with these purchases. Please note that we only accept NEW items.

Is there a teacher, coach or other important person in your life you would like to honour? You can make an online donation and have them receive an e-card with the information about the donation. It’s a great way to make an impact, and a nice way to say thank you before Summer comes!
