The Bopisowin FNIM Sacred Lodge is designed to support our Indigenous services as a space for ceremony, teachings and/or for quiet reflection. The Lodge recognizes the importance of cultural-based practices and cultural safety for Indigenous staff and the children, youth and families the agency serves.
In October 2015, the Bopisowin FNIM Sacred Lodge was built. A formal ceremony convened to open its doors. The occasion included an opening prayer, smudging, and a communal fire. The FNIM Team, senior leadership team and members of the community formed a listening circle where they shared their feelings on opening the Lodge and its intended purpose/use.
