All year long, we work with black community-based partners. Black History Month is an additional opportunity to highlight their work.
UPlift Black is a social impact agency working to UPlift the Black community who live in Simcoe County. Our work is culturally based and anchored in 2SLGBTQIA+ inclusivity striving to achieve the ultimate goal of racial equity through a conscious and UPlifted community.
Shak’s World is a community centre built for the youth by the youth located in downtown Barrie. They offer various programs. Their mission is to create respectful and successful athletes and community members through mentorship, sport and community engagement. While bringing awareness to youth mental and physical health.

Parents Against Racism Simcoe is founded on the principles of anti-oppression(AO), anti-racism (AR)and anti-Black racism(ABR); with these frameworks in mind we will advocate and advise SCDSB for equity for our racialized children.

ABC Mission is to create an empowering environment that provides a connecting bridge for Multiculturalism in Aurora and surrounding areas through music, food, events, educational and resources. Color doesn’t separate people, ignorance and hate does.
BRADFORD WOMEN’S GROUP
Bradford Women’s Group’s mission is to help women to become changemakers in their lives and communities running on organized, volunteer people-power.
Making Change’s GOAL is to spark broad community interest and foster conversations around inclusion and diversity. We have a specific focus on raising awareness and educating and exposing people to the Black community, Black culture, and issues around anti-Black racism. We are building community inclusion and togetherness through activities, allyship, participation and discussion.
