This is a permanent position. The incumbent will report to the Family Involvement Team Service Manager and will work from the Barrie office with regular attendance at other Branch offices in Simcoe & Muskoka. This individual will have Family Finding Service caseload responsibilities. Primary duties include: conduct interviews with the referred child/youth, the referral source, their care giver(s), initially identified relatives (kin and kith), and other identified individuals; diligently continue to identify, locate and engage additional relatives or other important people in the child/youth’s life; complete mobility mapping with the child/youth; conduct telephone interviews and/or home visits to locate and engage prospective family connections or ascertain additional contact information for family member connections; conduct paternity tests and consult with the Family Finder Investigator as needed; screen identified relatives or other identified individuals in accordance with Society policies and procedures, Ministry regulations, Standards, Directives and relevant legislation; arrange family conferences and ensure barriers to participating are removes for extended family; collaborate with other Society staff and external resources, to ensure effective coordination and provision of service; provide expertise/consultation, education and training about the Family Finding program and services to Society staff and external resource partners. Work beyond normal working hours is required. Work entails driving to multi-jurisdictional areas. This is a Bargaining Unit position – CUPE 5319.
