Placement/Resource Worker - Permanent - Barrie

The Job

Reporting to the Placement Manager, the successful candidate will responsible for the assessment and matching needs of children and youth to appropriate placements in both internal foster resources and outside resources, as well as managing and supporting ongoing development of approved internal foster care homes. Duties may also include: initial screening, recruiting and assessing of both internal foster care applicants and outside resource programs for usage suitability, completing SAFE home studies and orientation for newly approved internal foster homes as well as annual assessments 7 day visits and 30-day plan of care for OPR’s. This is a Bargaining Unit position.

and presentation of court applications under the Child and Family Services Act,

The Job

To mentor and coach new staff and to be a resource for coworkers with regards to case management and agency policy and procedures. To provide strength-based anti-oppressive client services which ensures the safety and well-being of children in accordance with the Society policies and procedures, Ministry Regulations, Standards and Directives and relevant legislation. The incumbent will report to the First Nations, Métis and Inuit Service Barrie Manager and will have general caseload responsibilities including: investigating and assessing matters pertaining to children in need of protection; support services to clients; providing services to children in care; documentation responsibilities in accordance with the legislation and Agency procedures; community outreach and prevention activities, including work with First Nation’s Bands and Band reviews; and other duties as assigned by the First Nations, Métis and Inuit Service Manager.
